Darren Emerson

One of the most influential figures in dance music, Emerson has sold over a million records worldwide. After 10 years of success with Underworld, the trio that gave us hits like Cowgirl, Rez, Dark and Long along with the track made famous by the movie Trainspotting, Born Slippy, he departed from the band to return to his roots as a solo DJ. His distinctive mix of deep, chunky house and funky techno has earned him global recognition for his versatility and talent for delighting dancefloors.

At an early age, Emerson made waves in the dance music world and was highly sought after by clubs like Limelights, The Milk Bar (a.k.a. The Project) and Venus, After being named “DJ of the Month” in both i-D and The Face Magazine, bookings from the UK and beyond followed almost instantly. He soon ditched his job on the stock market to take on the dance music world full time.

Darren Emerson has since worked with producers he has met on his travels across the world, released albums like Global Underground: Singapore and Episode 1 and started his on independent record label, Underwater Records. His record label was voted “Best Label of the Year” by DJ Magazine in 2003 and continues to release albums and singles from its ever expanding and progressively more diverse roster of artists - even while maintaining residency at London’s The End every last Saturday of the month, he has never failed to bring down the house at clubs worldwide.
